Tourist Visas to Algeria Requirements

  • Provide your signed original passport book.
    NOTE: Your valid passport book must have at least six months of remaining validity and at least one blank page in it. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps. Passports must not contain Israeli stamps. Passports containing Israeli stamps must be renewed. Please contact IAG for more in formation.
  • Two (2) completed Visa Application Form.
    Please note: improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa. The signature on each visa application must be original. All application forms must be TYPED. No handwritten applications will be accepted. Answer all the questions on the application form and fill out all the sections of the form. For example, if your parents are deceased, give their full names. Do not leave the section blank and do not write “Deceased”.
  • Two passport pictures in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
  • Round trip air tickets and copy of confirmed hotel reservation. The business visa is issued valid for the specific dates as requested on your applications form. The Embassy of Algeria advises applicants to make their travel arrangements based of the date of entry. Applicants should not arrive in Algeria before that date. The tourist visa is issued valid for the specific dates as requested on your application form.
  • Letter of Authorization to process your visa.
  • Complete the IAG Customer Order Form
  • NOTE:
    • Tourism Visa applicants must submit an itinerary of their airline travel and a confirmed Hotel eservation in Algeria.
    • Family Guest Visits: Applicants must provide with their application an invitation from their host in Algeria and notarized at the city hall of the place of residence of the Algerian host. The Embassy will not accept invitations faxed or sent separately.
    • Spouses of Algerian Citizens should submit a copy of the current Consulate Registration Card of their spouse and a notarized sponsorship letter signed by the Algerian spouse.

Consular Visa Processing Fee: Fees must be paid in US dollars with either a money order or cashier’s check made payable to the Embassy of Algeria in the amount of $135.00 for US Citizens.

Additional Requirements

If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, you must first submit your passport to have pages added, or if your passport expires within six months, you must first renew your passport. Please call us to assist you with obtaining or renewing your passport, or adding pages to your existing passport book. We can secure your visa using the added pages or new passport.

Non US-passport holders, temporary foreign visitors with a valid US visa, or foreign residents with legitimate status in the US may apply for a visa to Algeria. Applicants in these categories must send a photocopy of their US Green Card, Work Permit, I-20 Form, valid US Visa, and valid ID along with the above requirements. The Embassy will decide whether to issue the visa on a case by case basis. The Embassy may ask the applicant to provide additional documents.

Applicants under the age of 18 (eighteen) MUST provide the following documents in addition to the standard requirements stated above:

  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Signed Letters of Consent by both parents
  • Photocopies of the parents’ passports (bio-data page) or valid ID.
